Terms of Service

These are the terms you agree to by using Tandem. They are written to be read.
1. Who this is between
Tandem (“we”, “us”) provides this app. By creating an account you agree to these terms. If you do not agree to them, do not use the app.
2. You must be eighteen
Tandem is for adults. You must be eighteen or over to hold an account. We check the date of birth you give at sign-up, and we will remove an account we learn belongs to someone younger.
3. Your account
You sign in with Apple, with Google, or with a code sent to your email address. Keep control of whichever you use — anyone who can sign in to it can reach your Tandem account.
Your handle is yours while you hold it. We may reclaim a handle that impersonates someone, or one used to mislead.
You are responsible for what happens on your account.
4. What you put in stays yours
Your photographs, your writing and your trips remain your property. We do not claim ownership of any of it.
You give us only the permission needed to run the app: to store your content, and to show it to the people you have chosen to show it to — the people on your trip, or whoever your page's visibility setting allows. That permission ends when you delete the content or your account, except where something has to survive for other people's sake, which the Privacy page explains.
We will not use your photographs to advertise Tandem, sell them, or hand them to anyone else.
5. What you may not do
- Upload anything you do not have the right to upload.
- Post anything unlawful, hateful, or harassing, or anything sexual involving minors.
- Impersonate someone else.
- Use Tandem to harass, stalk or intimidate anybody, including people you have travelled with.
- Break into, overload, scrape or reverse-engineer the service, or try to reach data that is not yours.
- Create accounts in bulk or by automated means.
You can report a page or block a person from inside the app. We may remove content or close an account that breaks these rules.
6. Travelling with other people
A trip is shared. What you add to one — stops, expenses, documents, tips — is visible to everyone on that trip, and stays useful to them. Think before you add something you would not want the others to see.
Tandem's money features work out who owes what from what you enter. They are a record, not an authority. Settling up between yourselves is your business, and we are not a party to it, nor a payment service.
7. What Tandem tells you about the world
Tandem shows opening hours, flight times, places and prices that come from other services or from other travellers. These can be wrong, out of date, or about a different place with a similar name.
Check anything that matters. A warning that a restaurant is shut, a flight time on a boarding card, a place somebody recommended — none of it is a guarantee, and the app says which ones it is unsure about because it genuinely is. Do not miss a flight on our authority.
8. The service can change
Features may be added, altered or removed. We will not delete your content to do it, and if something is going away that you have data in, we will give you a way to keep it.
9. Ending it
You can delete your account from Settings at any time, and it takes effect immediately. We may suspend or close an account that breaks section 5, or that we are required to close by law.
10. No warranty
Tandem is provided as it is. We do our best to keep it working and your data safe, but we cannot promise it will never be unavailable, never lose anything, or never be wrong. Keep your own copies of photographs that matter to you.
11. Limits on liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss — missed flights, lost bookings, spoiled trips, or lost profit — arising from your use of Tandem. Nothing here limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited, including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.
12. Changes to these terms
If these terms change materially, the app will tell you before the change takes effect. Continuing to use Tandem after that means you accept them.
13. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Florida, United States, and disputes will be heard in the courts of Florida, without affecting any consumer rights you have where you live.
